Alleged photos of Princess Leonor in a bathing suit during her visit to Uruguay are causing unease within the Spanish monarchy.
The future queen arrived in Uruguay following her visit to Brazil. The princess is touring several countries as part of her voyage aboard the Juan Sebastian Elcano, and, as we have reported here at Royal Family News, she will be on this extensive journey for several months.
The photos in question were not official. According to Monarquía Confidencial, Zarzuela is planning to take drastic measures.
Although the Royal Household has taken great care to protect the princess’s privacy, recent leaks of sensitive information have highlighted the need to intensify security measures.
What will the royal household do about Princess Leonor’s bikini photos?
The aforementioned outlet reports that the monarchy plans to reinforce Leonor’s security to prevent further leaks.
According to sources close to Zarzuela consulted by *Monarquía Confidencial*, the institution has issued new guidelines to strengthen the security and confidentiality protocols for the team accompanying the heiress during her voyage aboard the Elcano.
Apparently, King Felipe VI has also spoken to his daughter, advising her to be cautious during her free time. Understandably, she is a princess, but also a 19-year-old who wants to enjoy time with friends.
The photos in the swimsuit have come as a “surprise.” However, Zarzuela does not plan to purchase any photos or censor anything.
It seems their strategy is to shield Leonor rather than hide the images. So far, no Spanish media outlet has published the photos—not even on social networks.
A similar situation occurred in Brazil, where photos of Princess Leonor partying (allegedly with a boyfriend) were leaked. The truth is, the future queen’s private life is becoming increasingly challenging to manage, particularly when it comes to preserving her privacy.
