Princess Leonor has already arrived in Brazil. After several weeks of sailing the Atlantic Ocean aboard the Juan Sebastian Elcano, the heir to the Spanish throne is ready for her first big stop.
The Royal House of Spain shared new photos of the princess a day before she officially disembarks in Salvador de Bahia, where the ship will be anchored for approximately three weeks, as we have already published here on RoyalFamily.news.
Photos of Princess Leonor in Brazil
In one of the pictures, Leonor can be seen leaning against one of the ship’s masts, surrounded by companions who are also participating in the activity. The big smile on her face reflects the good connection she has with them.
Another photo shows the young heiress wearing a white outfit consisting of a short shirt and shorts, a much cooler look to adapt to the high temperatures of her new destination.
The training ship is scheduled to arrive in Brazil on February 14. Salvador de Bahia will be the only Brazilian port where the Juan Sebastian Elcano will dock, and at this stop, Leonor will celebrate the 400th anniversary of the recovery of the city from the Dutch by a Spanish-Portuguese fleet.
During her stay, several events will be held with the participation of members of the Spanish and Brazilian communities.
The crew’s next stop will be Montevideo, Uruguay, on March 5. Afterwards, the Elcano will continue its journey through Chile, Peru, Panama, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and finally, the United States. In July, Princess Leonor will return to Spain to enjoy time with her family after her six-month voyage.
