The Spanish Royal Household has released the first images of Princess Leonor during her voyage aboard the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano, where she is training as a midshipman.
In the photographs, the heiress to the Spanish throne can be seen participating in various tasks typical of life on the high seas while crossing the Atlantic on her way to Brazil.

In the snapshots, Leonor appears on the masts of the sailboat, adjusting sails and using a sextant for navigation.
She is also seen doing maintenance work and preparing the boat, a fundamental part of learning on board.
The images capture everyday moments, such as lunches with her shipmates, attending lectures and the watches she must perform during the voyage.
Casa Real also released a one-minute video, which shows in detail the demanding routine of the midshipmen, who must climb the rigging to maneuver the sails, perform cleaning duties and follow strict discipline.
An Atlantic training voyage
As we have already reported here on RoyalFamily.News, Leonor embarked in Cadiz on January 11 with 76 other midshipmen, of whom 67 are men and 9 women.
The route of this 97th training cruise of the Juan Sebastián de Elcano will take her first to Salvador de Bahía (Brazil), where she is scheduled to arrive on February 14 after 22 days of sailing as far as possible.
Over the next few months, the vessel will call at various points in Latin America, including Montevideo, Punta Arenas, Valparaiso, El Callao, Panama City, Cartagena de Indias, Santa Marta, Santo Domingo and New York.
In total, some 240 people are traveling aboard the training ship, which is scheduled to arrive in Spain in July.
A month on a frigate before returning home
Although the Juan Sebastián de Elcano will return to Spain in midsummer, Leonor will not complete the voyage.
She is scheduled to disembark in New York, where she will take a flight back to Spain to continue her military training aboard a Spanish Navy frigate for a month. He will then rejoin his shipmates on the final leg of the voyage.
This experience is part of the Princess of Asturias’ military training plan, a key stage in her preparation as a future head of state.
