The Royal Palace of Madrid hosted the military parade “Pascua Militar”, for another year, led by King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia and, for the first time, Princess Leonor.
This year also marks the tenth anniversary of Felipe VI’s proclamation as Head of State, so is undoubtedly a ceremony of great significance.

The ceremony, which is held every year on January 6th to thank and pay tribute to the Armed Forces and the Civil Guard, took place in the Plaza de la Armería and culminated in the Throne Room of the Palace.
There, the monarch presented military decorations and made a speech in which he highlighted the presence of his daughter, the Princess of Asturias, who began her training as a cadet at the General Military Academy.
The traditional ceremony, instituted in 1782 by King Carlos III of Spain, was the perfect setting for Princess Leonor to begin to familiarize herself with the importance of the monarchy and its role in the country.
