The first portrait of Princess Leonor in military uniform has been unveiled and will be permanently exhibited at the Military Academy of Zaragoza.
The work, created by the renowned Spanish painter, Augusto Ferrer-Dalmau, has caused a great impact on social media, generating praise from both the audience and the protagonists themselves.

According to the artist, Princess Leonor and the King and Queen, Felipe VI and Letizia, have been very satisfied with the result.
“What worried me most was that the Princess of Asturias would like it. From what I have been told, she is happy and sees herself reflected in the portrait,” said Ferrer-Dalmau in an interview.
The portrait, painted in oil on canvas and measuring 62 x 53 centimeters, was completed in three weeks during the month of August, with the painter dedicating about eight hours a day to the work.
Despite the difficulties, the artist is very proud of the acceptance of his creation.
On October 18, the painting will be exhibited at the Military Academy of Zaragoza, where Princess Leonor spent her first year of training in the Army.
Although her attendance has not been confirmed, there is speculation that the heir to the throne may be present at the event. She is currently immersed in her naval training in Marin.
The work was specially commissioned by the Military Academy of Zaragoza, and Ferrer-Dalmau decided to donate it, explaining that “the painting belongs to all Spaniards”.
His goal was to capture a princess in a realistic setting, dressed in combat uniform, cap, backpack and a weapon, reflecting her experience as one more soldier during her maneuvers.
