A sweet moment between Prince Archie, his parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has captured hearts as an old video from Archie’s first royal tour emerged on TikTok.
Archie, the eldest child of Harry and Meghan, was born in London in 2019 and recently celebrated his fifth birthday on May 6.
With the rise of King Charles III to the throne in 2022, there’s been more attention on Archie and his younger sister, Princess Lilibet.
In the summer of 2022, the siblings visited Britain with their parents for the first time as a family, joining the celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II’s 70 years on the throne.
Following the passing of the monarch, Archie is now sixth and Lilibet seventh in line to inherit the British throne.
During the first year of his life, Archie lived in Britain while his parents worked as senior members of the monarchy, residing at Frogmore Cottage on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
When Archie was just four months old, Harry and Meghan took him on an official royal tour of South Africa in the fall of 2019, representing Queen Elizabeth and the U.K. government.
It was a rare public appearance for their son, as they usually keep their children out of the spotlight.
Throughout the tour, the family was seen publicly only once, during a meeting with Archbishop Desmond Tutu in Cape Town.
Prince Archie’s Tour Debut Charms Goes Viral
An adorable clip from this event, where Harry and Meghan proudly held Archie, has now gone viral on TikTok, shared by user princess__jo.
In the video, Meghan, dressed in a lovely print wrap-dress, coordinated with Archie in blue shades, while Harry walked beside them, showering affection on his son.
The video has garnered over 1.4 million views, with thousands of likes and comments praising the adorable family.
Despite the positive attention, Meghan revealed in a 2022 podcast with Serena Williams that she didn’t have fond memories of the tour, mentioning a fire incident in Archie’s nursery.
After the tour, Harry and Meghan spent time in Canada before announcing their decision to step back from royal duties in 2020, leading to their move to the U.S., where they currently reside in Montecito, California.
They haven’t visited Britain together since 2022.
