Prince Archie, the sixth in line to the British throne, lives a very different life from his royal ancestors in Montecito, California.
As he turns five today, many wonder how he might celebrate.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond shares her thoughts, saying, “I wish we knew more about little Archie,” said to OK!
Jennie believes that Prince Harry, Archie’s father, is a fantastic dad and imagines him playing with his kids in the garden, giving them a joyful life.
She thinks Archie likely inherited his dad’s mischievous personality.
Archie was born on May 6, 2019, in London and was originally known as Master Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor.
However, his parents, Harry and Meghan, announced that he would be called Prince Archie to ensure he and his sister, Princess Lilibet, could use their royal titles.
Despite spending little time in the UK, Archie joined his parents on a tour of South Africa when he was less than a year old and even met Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
How will Prince Archie celebrate his 5th birthday?
As for his birthday plans, Jennie guesses that Archie might spend the day at school since it falls on a Monday.
She expects he’ll receive gifts related to his interests, such as pirates or dinosaurs, and may have a party in their mansion’s garden or on the beach with friends.
Jennie hopes Harry will allow Archie to chat with his grandfather, whom he hardly knows, as family connections are important.
Prince Charles, Archie’s grandfather, shared how special it was to meet Archie and Lilibet during their last visit to the UK for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022.
He described it as a very emotional and wonderful experience.
