The British royal family continues to celebrate, and now it’s the turn of Prince Archie, Harry and Meghan Markle’s first child.

    Archie Prince Fun Facts

Here are five facts about Archie, the Prince of Sussex, that you may not have known.

    1. Archie’s birth

In a different birth than his sister Lilibet, who was born in the United States after the royal resignation known as “Megxit,” Archie was born in London at 5:26 a.m. on May 6, 2019, weighing about 7.1 pounds on the scales.

The setting for his birth was a room with the soft light of electric candles and decorated with a picture of Princess Diana, a detail that did not go unnoticed by the Daily Mail.

    2. He has dual citizenship

Harry and Meghan’s son benefits from a dual cultural heritage, holding both British and American citizenship.

His ancestry is a tapestry of diversity, with African-American and European-American roots on his mother’s side, an issue that has sparked controversy among the Windsors.

Meghan, in her revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, shared the harsh racial criticism they faced about the color of Archie’s skin.

    3. Archie’s christening

On July 6, 2019, Archie’s christening took place in the chapel at Windsor Castle, officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.

Holy water from the River Jordan was used in the ceremony, and Archie was dressed in a replica of Princess Victoria’s historic christening gown, an outfit also chosen for the christenings of his cousins George, Charlotte and Louis.

    4. Archie and his first trip around the world

At the tender age of two, Archie had already surpassed his cousins Charlotte and Louis in international experience when he embarked on his first official trip.

Accompanied by his parents, he toured southern African countries such as Malawi, Angola, South Africa and Botswana, adding miles and experiences to his young life.

    5. Archie was not born with a royal title

Initially known as “Lord” after his birth, Archie received a significant change in his title on March 9, 2023.
By royal decree, he was proclaimed “His Royal Highness,” formally adopting the title Prince Archie of Sussex, a defining moment in his young existence.
