The only one of Queen Elizabeth II’s children who, so far, has maintained a stable marriage is Edward, Earl of Wessex.
The youngest son of the late monarch married Sophia Rhys-Jones on June 19, 23 years ago. The couple went through several difficulties to have children and finally welcomed Louise and years later James Mountbatten-Windsor.
The relationship of the Earls of Wessex have been maintained over time and Sofia was one of the members of the family most affected by the death of her mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth last September 8, 2022.

The love that united her with Edward is still intact and so it was captured in a tender image in which the prince is seen as he looks, totally in love, to his wife and while she looks at the camera very smiling. The image reflects that, despite the years, they still have a strong connection.
The bond between the two is likely to increase after the monarch’s death and they will take on more important roles for the British royals.
