Although many believed that Prince George would follow in the footsteps of his father, Prince William, and his uncle, Prince Harry, by attending Eton boarding school, the Prince and Princess of Wales have decided to take a different path.
According to several British media reports, the future monarch will change his academic path and will begin his studies at Marlborough College.
Prince George at Marlborough College
The prestigious $60,000-a-year boarding school is known for having hosted students from prominent families, including Princess Kate, who spent part of her youth there.
This change of tradition has aroused the interest of many people, especially among the parents of Marlborough, who are already debating which house will be the best to accommodate Prince George during his stay.
The institution, founded in 1843, has six houses for boys, six for girls and four mixed, each with its own characteristics.
However, everything indicates that the chosen option will be the C1 house, an internal building that guarantees greater security measures.
This former residence belonged to the family of Jane Seymour, the third wife of King Henry VIII.
Sources close to the school environment have indicated that, due to the prince’s safety, George will have to stay in one of the “internal houses”, those located within the main schoolyard.
Marlborough College is widely recognized for the quality of its teaching. The college boasts that more than 80% of its students gain access to the most prestigious universities in the country.
In addition, its campus, which covers 115 hectares, includes old houses, modern educational buildings and an imposing Gothic-style chapel.
In addition, there is an outstanding extracurricular offer, with elite sports teams and a highly respected symphony orchestra.
This educational environment also opens up the possibility for George to share his school years with his younger siblings, Charlotte and Louis, something that is already happening today at Lambrook, the school they all started at the beginning of September 2022.
Prior to their admission to Lambrook, George and Charlotte had attended the exclusive Thomas’s Battersea in London.
Marlborough College, promises to offer Prince George a unique experience, as well as maintaining a special link to his mother’s childhood.
