On September 15, Prince Harry will celebrate his 40th birthday and has taken a moment to reflect on the life he has built and the future he envisions.
Having opened up about his personal journey in his memoir “Spare,” the Duke of Sussex now focuses on cherishing every moment with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two young children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
Prince Harry will be 40 years old on September 15
While he remains dedicated to his work through the Archewell Foundation, the non-profit he co-founded with Meghan, and continues to engage in entertainment projects like the upcoming Netflix documentary on polo, Harry’s heart truly lies with his family.
In a personal note to People, he shared, “The best gift I’ve ever been given is, without a doubt, my kids. I enjoy watching them grow every single day, and I love being their dad.”
For his 40th, Harry plans a simple celebration with Meghan and their children, followed by a get-together with close friends around the world.
Though the couple keeps Archie and Lilibet mostly out of the public eye, they have occasionally offered glimpses into their children’s lives, revealing their playful personalities and close family bond.
Harry remains fiercely protective of his family’s privacy, a sentiment that is rooted deeply in his own experience as a child after the tragic death of his mother, Princess Diana, in a car chase in 1997.
“Harry has been reluctant to show his children publicly, not out of a desire to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats,” a friend shared with People. “He wants them to lead as normal a life as possible, free from fear.”
Undoubtedly, Harry is determined to make sure that history does not repeat itself.
As Harry enters quarantine, he enjoys life in Montecito, California, with Meghan and their children, building a home full of love and purpose.
Looking ahead, Harry is preparing for a visit to New York City later this month to support projects that are close to his heart, including initiatives that honor his late mother’s legacy.
