Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have put an end to the rumors circulating about their relationship after several weeks in which both appeared separately.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex virtually participated in the first day of the Global Ministerial Conference on Violence against Children, held in Colombia.
In August, Meghan and Harry visited Colombia shortly after her Archewell Foundation launched The Parent’s Network, an initiative aimed at supporting families whose children have been affected by trauma related to social media use.
Prince Harry and Meghan separation
Meghan and Harry reappeared on November 8th to put an end to the separation rumors.
During their speech at the conference, they delivered a strong message about the importance of online safety for children. In their speech, both the prince and Meghan mentioned that it is important to address digital violence against minors.
“We are at a crossroads,” Harry said. “And the urgency to reassess and redefine our approach to protecting children has become increasingly evident. While the necessity has always been apparent, it’s now time to translate that awareness into meaningful action.”
For her part, Meghan added:
“My husband and I recognize that today’s reality is marked by greater connectivity and advanced technology, which, of course, has many positives. However, it also compels us to better understand how digital violence against children is manifesting itself in this age.”
She went on to explain that “At the Archewell Foundation, we engage with young people, families, and experts worldwide, learning about how every aspect of a child’s life—from their livelihood to their physical and mental well-being—now operates within an online economy that has both the power to shape and misshape our connections.”
The couple also emphasized the profound impact that technology and digital connectivity have on children’s lives today.
While acknowledging the positive aspects of these developments, they emphasized the urgent need to establish a check against digital violence.
A nod to the British royal family
As for her appearance during the conference, Meghan opted for a “working girl” look, sporting a black top combined with a blue blazer, while Harry showed up in a white shirt and a black jacket.
One detail that did not go unnoticed was the poppy pin they both wore, a symbol used by the British royal family to commemorate Remembrance Day in the United Kingdom, which honors members of the military who have lost their lives.
This weekend, the royal family will commemorate this important event, also marked by the official return to work of Kate Middleton, who announced in September that she had completed her cancer treatment.
