The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, is keeping up his work pace away from the British Crown.
Following his recent participation in a charity polo event in Florida, he made a notable appearance on Wednesday, April 17.
The 39-year-old son of King Charles took part in Travalyst’s annual meeting, calling on tourism leaders to put sustainability at the heart of the industry.
In his virtual intervention, he engaged with individuals impacted by the travel and tourism industry, emphasizing the importance of improving our approach to those who preserve the destinations we enjoy visiting.
“Travel and tourism relies on destinations, held together by communities, without which we have nowhere to travel to,” Harry said, adding that “communities are the beating heart of travel.”
“We’ve heard from some fantastic organizations like Invisible Cities who train people affected by homelessness to be tour guides in their own city, and Global Himalayan Expedition, whose programs have helped electrify over 200 Himalayan villages impacting over 60,000 lives for the better,” he continued. “More and more people are wanting to make informed travel choices so that the benefit of travel is felt by all. Travalyst and its partners bring a combined market value of nearly $3 trillion and are working hard to provide that resource at a systems level.” he added.
Founded by Prince Harry in 2019, Travalyst is a global coalition that includes some of the biggest brands in the travel industry, including Amadeus, Booking.com, Expedia Group, Google, Skyscanner, Travelport, Trip.com Group, Tripadvisor and Visa. Prince Harry remains the founder and patron of Travalyst and continues to be involved in this sustainable tourism initiative.

Although the purpose of the call was to highlight this cause, the subtle details in the Duke of Sussex’s video caught the attention of social media.
One notable example was a photo in the bookstore behind him of him as a child with his mother, Princess Diana.
The same black-and-white photo was included in his autobiography, “Spare,” and shows a young Harry in a tender embrace with his mother, his head resting on her shoulder.
In addition, keen observers noticed a drawing of Meghan Markle at the top of the bookcase, dressed as she was during her visit to New York in September 2021.
During that visit, the couple attended the Global Citizen Live event and visited the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, their first public appearances together following the birth of their daughter, Princess Lilibet, in June 2021.
Interestingly, a book titled “California” was also spotted in the bookstore, alluding to the state where Harry and Meghan currently reside with their son, Prince Archie, and daughter, Princess Lilibet.
