Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy dated on and off for several years, starting in 2004 when Davy was a student at Stowe School. The relationship had ups and downs and they broke up and reconciled several times in the following years. However, they ended up separating for good in 2010.
Despite ending their relationship, Harry has said that he and Chelsy remain friends after their breakup, managing to maintain a respectful relationship over the years.
Why did Prince Harry and Chelsy break up?
In his book ‘Spare’, Harry revealed that their relationship was often difficult due to their different lifestyles and interests. He also revealed that he found it difficult to juggle his royal duties and his relationship with Chelsy. The youngest son of King Charles III claimed that he felt pulled in different directions and could not devote the time to her that she deserved.
Sources close to the couple have said that distance was a major factor in their separation, as Chelsy was studying in South Africa while Harry focused on his military career.
But the biggest compelling reason for the couple’s breakup was due to the press pressure and public scrutiny surrounding the prince and his family. Chelsy never felt comfortable under the spotlight of the British press, which caused tensions in their relationship.
After their breakup, Chelsy went into law and founded her own jewelry line. She has said she still has a good relationship with Harry but is happy to be out of the spotlight as a member of the royal family.
In an interview in 2016, Chelsy talked about her relationship with Harry, she said that they still have a great friendship and great mutual respect and that she still cared about him and supported him in everything he does.
In 2018, Chelsy was a guest at Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.
It should be noted that Prince Harry maintained several high-profile relationships since his separation from Chelsy. In his memoir, Harry also discusses his other romantic relationships, including his brief affair with Caroline Flack and his relationship with Cressida Bonas, whom he also invited to his wedding.
Currently, Chelsy is married to Sam Cutmore-Scott, the father of her first son, Leo. Harry, meanwhile, lives in the United States with Meghan and their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
