For several months now, there has been talk about the possibility of Prince Harry being deported from the United States.
What are the chances that Prince Harry will be deported from the U.S. because of his past drug use?
Prince Harry deported from the U.S.?
A royal commentator said that deporting Harry would turn into a “circus” and that there is no real chance of him being expelled.
Prince Harry’s US visa documents are currently involved in a court battle.
The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, is suing the Department of Homeland Security.
Foundation want to see Harry’s visa documents to find out if he admitted to using illegal drugs before getting his US visa.
In his book, Harry said he used cocaine, magic mushrooms, and cannabis.
US immigration law is strict about lying to officials. If someone lies, they can be deported and banned from becoming a citizen.
However, Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal commentator, told GB News that Harry’s royal status would protect him from deportation.
Fitzwilliams said it is possible that the documents could be released to the public. However, the American ambassador has said this will not happen.
Richard believes it would be “silly” to deport a royal and that it would cause a lot of unnecessary drama.
He added that Harry was unwise to discuss his drug use so openly in his book, “Spare.”
US immigration lawyer Melissa Chavin, based in London, suggested that Harry might have an “A-1 Head of State” visa.
This type of visa is very special, as she explained in an interview with the Mail.
An A-1 visa allows a person to come to the US without needing to work as a royal or a head of state.
If Harry has this special visa, he would only have been checked for things like espionage, sabotage, terrorism, and opposition to the US government.
His past drug use or drug-related crimes would not have been part of the check, and his admissions in “Spare” would not affect his visa.
