Prince Harry may be seeking to mend ties with the royal family, but fears about his future in the UK are growing.
According to royal sources, the Duke of Sussex is deeply concerned that when his father King Charles passes away, Prince William might cut him off entirely.
Without the King’s support, Harry could lose the little standing he still has in Britain—and with it, any hopes of a role or security presence.
These anxieties surfaced as staff from both Harry’s and King Charles’s teams were spotted in a discreet meeting at the Royal Over-Seas League in London. Though it’s unclear who initiated the talks, the absence of Prince William’s aides was noted.
Royal experts see the encounter as a tentative step toward reconciliation, at least between Harry and his father, though trust appears to be a major obstacle.
Prince William, by contrast, seems far less inclined to forgive, especially given Harry’s personal accusations directed not only at him but also at Princess Kate.
Harry’s efforts to reestablish contact come at a fragile time. King Charles is still recovering from recent health issues, and Harry’s recent legal battle over security has only added tension.
In a BBC interview, he blamed the Royal Household for influencing the case’s outcome, calling it a “stitch-up.” Still, he has publicly said he’s forgiven his family and that he wants to rebuild the relationship—though insiders believe Meghan Markle remains distant from any talks and unlikely to push for reconciliation herself.
Despite the strained dynamics, Harry continues to chart his own path. He was recently seen in Angola walking through demining zones with the Halo Trust, echoing his late mother Diana’s humanitarian work.
He also plans to invite his father and brother to the next Invictus Games, a move that some view as a hopeful gesture. Whether the gesture will be returned, however, remains to be seen.
