Addressing his father King Charles’ recent cancer diagnosis, Harry expressed gratitude for having had the opportunity to visit the monarch in the U.K. last week, calling it “a blessing.”
“I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could,” Harry said.
While Charles and Harry’s relationship has been strained since the Sussexes stepped back from royal duties, Harry said he still loves his family deeply.
He even expressed optimism that his father’s illness could help bring the royals back together, noting that sickness often unites families.
“Look I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him I’m grateful for that,” he said.
Harry also revealed that he will be returning to the UK soon:
“I’ve got other trips planned that will take me through the U.K., or back to the U.K., and so I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can.”
Beyond family matters, Harry gave insights into his current life with Meghan and their two young children in Montecito, California.
He reaffirmed his dedication to supporting wounded veterans through organizations like the Invictus Games.
Intriguingly, Harry also hinted that he may be considering applying to become a U.S. citizen in the future.
“The American citizenship is a thought that has crossed my mind.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in Canada for the One Year To Go celebration, where they joined dozens of people to tour the fields where the first Invictus Winter Games 2025 will be held.
