The relationship between Prince Harry and King Charles III is going through one of its coldest moments.
Although Harry returned to London in April for a key hearing in his legal battle to regain the official security he lost in 2020, there was no private meeting with his father.
Harry and his father remain distant
According to sources quoted by People magazine, the king avoided any personal conversation, even though Harry’s visit was scheduled in advance. “They are distant,” said a source close to the palace, while another stated that “nothing has changed.”
The estrangement is so profound that Harry learned about Charles’s hospitalization in March through the media.
This court case is not just a legal matter; it is also an emotional struggle.
Harry believes that the removal of his protection was a form of institutional pressure.
The situation is further complicated by the fact that the decision comes from RAVEC, a government committee with direct links to Charles’s advisors, fueling the perception that the king could intervene but chooses to stay out of it.
Meanwhile, the disconnect with Prince William remains equally tense. Neither has resumed contact following the release of Spare, the book in which Harry revealed intimate family details.
Despite the conflict, he still hopes that his children can grow up knowing their British roots. For now, however, the ties remain broken.
Meanwhile, his legal team remains “cautiously optimistic” about the court’s ruling, expected in the coming weeks. “He feels very strongly this is something he must fight for,” said a source close to the case.
