This week it emerged that Prince Harry repaid the money for the Frogmore Cottage remodel. The Dukes of Sussex did not occupy the house for the desired time.
Harry and Meghan announced at the beginning of the year their intentions to leave their position within the British royal family and although their decision was taken by surprise, the work they had to carry out for their residence was already ready and canceled.

The expense of the remodeling of the property was another controversy for the couple who did not get used to the attention they received from the press.

The media speculated on the amount of money invested to condition Frogmore Cottage and the luxuries Meghan apparently ordered to include.
Officially it was known that the remodeling cost 2.7 million euros, the same amount that Prince Harry returned as reported Monday by a spokesman for the Duke of Sussex.
As part of the agreement to leave the monarchy, the queen’s grandson was obliged to return the total budget for the renovations because it was public money. The works were carried out through the game that the Government allocates to the British royal family.
Harry and Meghan made changes to the historic building, built in the 19th century, to become their residence. A year later they announced their resignation from their royal obligations.
The announcement of the money back comes a few days after the dukes signed an agreement with Netflix to create documentaries, movies and series through their own production company.
