Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have once again shown their commitment to philanthropy by making a significant donation of $250,000 to Ashley Biden, the daughter of U.S. President Joe Biden.
This generous contribution was directed to Biden’s women’s wellness center, Women’s Wellness (Spa)ce, located in Philadelphia.

The wellness hub is designed as a safe, supportive environment where women who have experienced trauma can gather, create, learn, and find moments of peace through meditation.
According to Archewell Foundation’s 2023 tax records, this donation marks the largest financial contribution the foundation made last year.
Archewell’s Annual Impact Report
The donation was highlighted in Archewell’s recently published annual impact report, a 45-page document that provides insight into the foundation’s activities and contributions.
Alongside this major donation, the report revealed that Archewell received over $5.3 million in grants, including a substantial $5 million from five anonymous benefactors.
A Strong Connection to the Biden Family
Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the Biden family goes beyond this generous donation. The Sussexes have collaborated with President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden on events such as the Invictus Games and were vocal in their support of Joe Biden during the 2020 U.S. presidential election.
Meghan, who has been rumored to have political aspirations, also shares a connection with Valerie Biden Owens, President Biden’s sister.
Valerie has even expressed her support for Meghan as a potential leader, though Meghan has not announced any plans to enter politics.
A Foundation Facing Challenges
Despite their philanthropic successes, Archewell has faced its share of challenges. The foundation spent nearly $790,000 on salaries last year, and its Chief of Staff, Josh Kettler, resigned after just three months on the job. His departure brings the total number of staff members who have left the Sussexes’ team to 18 over the past four years.
Kettler’s exit was announced just one day before he was scheduled to accompany Harry and Meghan on a trip to Colombia.
This frequent turnover has drawn attention, but the foundation continues to push forward with its impactful projects.
