Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will return to New York for a special appearance at the United Nations General Assembly.
According to reports, a United Nations spokesperson confirmed that the couple will be in New York for the UN. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will be present to celebrate Nelson Mandela Day on July 18.

For the occasion, Prince Harry, 37, is expected to deliver a speech. This is not the first time that the couple participates in a UN event, in 2015 Meghan attended the conference on International Women’s Day with her mother, Doria Ragland. At that event the Duchess gave a speech on gender equality.

The royal family, in general, has been closely associated with Mandela and his legacy. Both the dukes and Queen Elizabeth II herself met on more than one occasion with the South African leader.
Following the politician’s death in 2013, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex met with Graca Machel, Mandela’s widow during the couple’s 2019 tour. Prince Harry and Meghan also visited the Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition in London in July 2018.

The couple’s last visit to the Big Apple was in November 2021, the Duke and Duchess attended several events including the U.S. Veterans Day celebration at the Salute to Freedom 2021 gala at the Intrepid Museum.
