Prince Harry will put aside his differences with his family and travel to the United Kingdom to be with his father, King Charles III.
This Monday, 5 February 2024, Buckingham Palace announced that the monarch had been diagnosed with prostate cancer following an operation he underwent last Friday, 26 January.
According to People magazine, Charles himself broke the news to Prince William and Prince Harry before the announcement was made public.
Charles also personally informed his siblings, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.
Prince Harry to travel to the UK
After much speculation about Prince Harry’s trip to the UK, it is finally his father’s health that will force him to travel again to be reunited with his family, according to People.
A source consulted by the media outlet revealed that Prince William has been in regular contact with his father following the news, while Harry, who moved to California with his wife Meghan Markle in 2020, is expected to travel to the UK in the coming days.
There is no exact date yet for Harry’s arrival in England, but it is expected to be later this week.
King Charles prostate cancer
The news of King Charles’ cancer comes a day after the monarch was spotted with Queen Camilla at St Mary Magdalene Church near Sandringham on Sunday, where the royal family traditionally attend mass on Christmas Day.
It was the monarch’s first outing since being discharged from hospital on 29 January after a three-day stay following prostate surgery.
