Prince Harry’s alleged return to monarchical duties has generated a whirlwind of speculation following a Mail on Sunday article dated Sept. 1 suggesting that Harry, who stepped away from his royal responsibilities alongside Meghan Markle in 2020, has asked his former advisors and friends to consider options for a possible partial rejoining of the royal family.
The royal expert community and, in particular, social media users, have expressed divided opinions regarding his potential return to the monarchical fold, following known tensions with several members of his family, most notably disagreements with his brother, Prince William.
However, beyond conjecture, a reliable source consulted by People magazine has clarified the reality behind these rumors of reintegration into royal life.
Is Harry Really Considering a Return to the Monarchy?
According to revelations from a close source, Prince Harry was surprised to learn of the speculation about his return to the monarchy.
Although initial reports indicated that Harry was longing to resume his royal role, this source claims that, on the contrary, Meghan Markle’s husband is feeling fulfilled with his life in California.
They mention that he is focused on the well-being of his family and the continuation of his projects there.
However, the source clarifies that Harry does want to return, but not to rejoin the monarchy.
Specifically, he is keen to visit friends in the UK and to collaborate directly, rather than virtually through Zoom, with the charities he remains linked to in his home country, such as WellChild, reports People.
In addition, he intends to bring his family, Meghan, 43, and their children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, to the UK for visits.
Prince Harry has also expressed concern about the lack of access to security, a privilege he lost after his retirement from royal duties, which becomes a challenge for his trips to the UK.
Recently, Harry returned alone to England for the funeral of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, which took place on August 29.
Lord Fellowes, who died on July 29 at the age of 82, was married to Lady Jane Fellowes, one of Princess Diana’s older sisters.
The Prince was honored to take part in the ceremony held in Norfolk. Prince William was also present at the funeral, marking the first occasion that the siblings had been reunited since the coronation of King Charles.
Following the service, Prince Harry stayed with Charles Spencer, Diana’s brother, at Althorp, the Spencer family’s ancestral home.
