On the eve of his return to England, Prince Harry is preparing for a visit full of anticipation and possible family reunions.
On May 8, London will welcome the Duke of Sussex, who will honor the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games with a special appearance at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Although he will initially travel alone, Meghan Markle is expected to join him later for an engagement in Nigeria that is also linked to the Invictus Games, a sporting event founded by Harry in 2014.
Prince Harry’s meeting with King Charles III
The potential meeting between Harry and his royal family has attracted a lot of interest.
Despite the lack of official confirmation, sources in the British newspaper Express have suggested that the Duke could have a brief meeting with the King.
If so, it would be the second time Harry has visited his father since Buckingham Palace announced the 75-year-old monarch’s cancer diagnosis on February 5.
On his previous visit to the UK, Harry reportedly held a 45-minute conversation with the King at Clarence House.
According to the same sources, Queen Camilla is unlikely to attend the meeting due to her schedule.
How long will Harry be in England?
The duke’s stay in London will be short, and any meeting with King Charles III, if it occurs, is expected to be brief due to the monarch’s many engagements.
Charles is scheduled for his weekly audience with the prime minister and to attend the first garden party of the season at Buckingham Palace, also scheduled for May 8.
“Health permitting, the king will attend the garden party at Buckingham Palace on May 8,” the source said. “If a meeting with Harry were to take place, it would have to be just before or after.
What seems unlikely is a meeting between Harry and his brother William.
The relationship between the two has been strained and deteriorating since Harry moved to the United States with Meghan and their son, Archie.
The couple then welcomed their second daughter, Princess Lilibet, further cementing their life away from the British royal family.
