Prince Harry remains enthusiastic about promoting the upcoming Invictus Games, which will take place in February 2025 in Canada.
However, he seems to have taken his dedication to the extreme. The proof? A new neck tattoo he got during a video with singer Jelly Roll.
In the video, released after his appearance at the Grey Cup this weekend, Prince Harry sits down to get a tattoo from Jelly Roll, who is scheduled to lead the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games.
Prince Harry’s tattoo
On November 19, the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 shared a clip on Instagram showing the Duke of Sussex and the “Save Me” singer at East Side Ink, a well-known tattoo parlor in New York.
During their interaction, Harry told Jelly Roll that he was there to invite him to the Invictus Games, but Jelly Roll had other plans in mind: he wanted to give the prince a tattoo.
“Wait, have you done this before?” asked the duke, to which Jelly Roll replied, “Practically, pretty much,” suggesting that Harry should trust him.
At first, Harry had in mind getting a smaller, less visible tattoo. “A small one?” he asked, as the sound of the tattoo machine could be heard.
Jelly Roll joked about it, saying it would be “like a baby getting its first haircut.” In a playful tone, the Duke of Sussex suggested that he should have gotten the tattoo “on my ass.”
As the artist worked, Harry expressed, “It feels big, man.”
Jelly Roll replied, “Commitment, prince. This is going to be huge, man.” When Harry looked in the mirror and saw the result, he exclaimed, “What’s that! Dude, it’s enormous.”
Jelly Roll took it creatively: “The Invictus Games are enormous,” and Harry, surprised, noticed that it was written “I am Jelly Roll” in a style similar to the Invictus Games logo.
“Is that your name? Does that say Jelly Roll? You put your name on my neck?!” an astonished Harry asked. Jelly Roll said goodbye with “I’ll see you in Vancouver!” and Harry, still processing the news, said, “Oh, s–,” as the video came to an end.
This amusing and unexpected development coincides with the announcement that Jelly Roll will be the closing act for the Invictus Games ceremony on February 16, 2025.
It was announced that the full list of performances will be made public on November 20.
