Prince Harry’s recent announcement has caused quite a stir, as he will travel to New York in the coming days to promote his sponsorships and philanthropic initiatives, according to a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex.
Harry, 39, recently returned from Colombia, where, along with his wife Meghan Markle, he participated in a series of events focused on internet safety, education, and female empowerment.
However, it has been confirmed that this time he will be making the trip to New York without Meghan’s company.
Details of the trip to New York
The Duke of Sussex’s spokesperson has indicated that Harry will be in New York during the UN General Assembly’s High-Level Week, as well as Climate Week.
Climate Week is scheduled for September 22-29, and High-Level Week will run from September 23-27.
An interesting aspect of the trip is that it will virtually coincide with that of Prince William, who may also be in town for an Earthshot Prize-related event.
On September 24, the Prince of Wales and Bloomberg Philanthropies will host the third annual Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit.
While it is unclear whether William will participate in the summit as he did last year, the possibility of a reunion between the two brothers has sparked speculation.
However, experts in the royal family consider it unlikely to happen, given that William has tried to keep Harry at arm’s length following the latter’s controversial revelations about the British royal family in his book, various interviews, and his Netflix documentary.
Prince Harry’s trip to New York promises to be a notable event, not only for its philanthropic aims but also for the media attention it could generate around the relationship between the brothers.
