Prince William spent a sporty Saturday with his son, Prince George, at the FA Cup final.

On May 25, the Prince of Wales, who is 41 years old, attended the big soccer match between Manchester City and Manchester United at Wembley Stadium in London.

Prince George, who is 10 and also a big soccer fan, joined him.

As president of the Football Association, William had the honor of awarding the trophy to the winning team.

Before the game started, Prince William greeted the teams. He shook hands with United’s attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes, the team’s manager Erik ten Hag, and City midfielder Phil Foden.

Photos showed William and George sitting together, watching the match intently.

William wore a dark blue suit with a white shirt and a red, white, and blue striped tie.

This father-son outing happened after the royal family had to cancel some of their planned events.

This change came because U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called for a surprise general election in early July.

To avoid distracting from the election campaign, Buckingham Palace announced on May 21 that the royals would postpone certain engagements.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson expressed apologies for any inconvenience caused by these cancellations.

However, events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings and King Charles’ first overseas trip since announcing his cancer diagnosis will continue as planned.

Other events, such as a state visit from the Emperor and Empress of Japan scheduled for late June, are being reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

What Football Team Does Prince William Support

Prince William has been seen at several games for his favorite soccer team, Aston Villa, recently.

Aston Villa’s successful season, which ended with them qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time, brought joy to William. He even tweeted a congratulatory message to the team.

A close source mentioned that soccer has been an important comfort for William during these times.

William also took Prince George to an Aston Villa game on April 11.

When asked if George was now “part of the pride,” a phrase used by Villa fans to describe their supporters, William confirmed that his son was indeed loving it.
