Although Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton will not be attending the BAFTA Awards this Sunday, February 16, the Prince of Wales did not sit idly by. Instead, he made an appearance at a film-related event.
On February 12, William visited the London Film Academy to support emerging film talent.
As the president of BAFTA, his absence at the gala is somewhat surprising. Nevertheless, his visit to the academy was an excellent way to focus on the young people who could one day shine on that red carpet.
Prince William at the London Screen Academy
During his time at the London Screen Academy, William had the opportunity to meet senior students and explore various areas of film production, from wardrobe and editing to animation.
He caught up with the hair and makeup teams, observed how they create costumes, and even participated in a few moments of filming this year’s movie, “Melomania.”
Although William and Kate won’t be at the BAFTAs, it seems the Prince of Wales genuinely wants to give visibility to the new generation of creatives emerging from academies and universities across the UK.
If that weren’t enough, on February 11, Kate also paid a visit to a prison in Cheshire to see the work being done in the mother and baby unit.
It is worth noting that, following her announcement of being in “remission” from cancer on January 14, both seem dedicated to making a difference through their royal engagements.
