The long-standing rift between Prince William, Kate Middleton, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has been a topic of intense speculation within royal circles.
The rift between the royal brothers and their wives has been a subject of intense scrutiny, with tensions reaching a boiling point in recent years.
Meghan and Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, their Netflix docuseries, and Harry’s memoir “Spare” have all shed light on the fractured relationships within the royal family.
In “Spare,” Harry detailed an explosive argument with William, during which the Prince of Wales allegedly called Meghan “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive,” leading to a physical altercation between the brothers.
Prince William and Kate want to see Archie and Lilibet
However, in an exclusive interview with The Mirror, royal author Tom Quinn shed light on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s attempts to heal the strained relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
According to Quinn, the Prince and Princess of Wales have suggested that the Sussexes bring their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the UK.
This new rapprochement would allow the two families to reunite and work to resolve their differences.
However, But not everything is rosy, Quinn claims that Meghan has been reluctant to accept the invitation, effectively putting a hold on the potential reconciliation efforts.
“There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK,” he stated, adding, “William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far.”
Archie and Lilibet, who reside with their parents in California, have had limited interactions with the Royal Family.
While they were able to meet with the royals during the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, they were unable to bid farewell to their great-grandmother before her passing in September 2022.
Meghan and Harry had initially planned to bring their children to the UK in September 2022 but ultimately decided against it due to security concerns.
Court documents revealed that the couple had requested security but were denied by RAVEC (the Royal and VIP Executive Committee), with their team describing the proposed security measures as “inadequate” and “unlawful.”
These statements come after speculation increased about the possibility of a reunion between the brothers and sisters-in-law, amid the health problems afflicting the royal family.
According to experts, Harry and Meghan’s recent gestures of goodwill in the wake of Kate’s cancer diagnosis could pave the way for reconciliation between the two couples.
Reports indicate that Harry will travel in May to the UK and will have the expected reunion with his brother.
While observers hope for a reconciliation between the brothers and their wives, the outlook remains uncertain.
