After enjoying a summer break with Princess Kate and their children, Prince William returned to his royal duties in London, and he sported a new look!
On September 5, the 42-year-old Prince of Wales visited the “Homelessness: Reframed” exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery.
This exhibit, a partnership between the Eleven Eleven Foundation and Prince William’s Homewards campaign, sheds light on the complexities of homelessness across the U.K. and aims to reframe public perception about the issue.
Prince William shows off his beard
The Prince was there to support the cause, which he and Princess Kate have championed since the campaign’s launch in June 2023.
In a surprise style move, Prince William appeared with a beard — his second appearance with facial hair in recent weeks.
Known for his clean-shaven look, William first surprised everyone by showing up with a beard in a video released on August 11, where he and Princess Kate congratulated Team Great Britain for their success at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
A few weeks later, he seemed to have shaved it off before appearing at Crathie Kirk church near Balmoral Castle on August 25.
The exhibit “Homelessness: Reframed” features a wide range of artwork, aiming to spark a conversation about homelessness in the UK.
As Prince William’s spokesman put it, the exhibition seeks to demonstrate that “this is an issue that can be prevented and ended.”
During his visit, the Prince of Wales had the opportunity to meet with artists whose works are displayed in the exhibit. He also interacted with people whose real-life experiences inspired some of the pieces.
William spent time with children from Creative Kids, a charity that participated in workshops to create art for the “Open Doors” segment of the exhibit.
Since its opening on August 7, the exhibition has welcomed over 25,000 visitors, according to Prince William’s office. The donations collected from visitors, totaling over $6,600, are being equally divided between two charities, Centrepoint and The Passage, both of which support the unhoused. Prince William is a patron of both organizations.
