Prince William, 40, and Harry Potter have something in common, they both have a scar on their foreheads. The son of Princess Diana has proudly worn that mark of his youth, but did you know the story behind it?
The Prince of Wales himself has on more than one occasion mentioned his mark on his face and called it his “Harry Potter scar”.
The story behind Prince William’s scar
As revealed by several media outlets, the future king of England got the scar on his forehead after being hit with a golf club when he was 13 years old.
“I call it (my Harry Potter scar) because sometimes it glows and some people notice it, sometimes they don’t notice it at all,” he said in a 2009 interview. “I got hit by a golf club when I was playing golf with a friend of mine. We were on a putting green and the next thing you know there was a seven iron and it came out of nowhere and hit me in the head,” William stated.
The strangest part of his story is that he shares scars with his wife, Kate Middleton, who has a mark on her scalp left from an operation when she was a child.
