A detail of Prince William, 40, aroused the curiosity of many followers of royalty. The son of King Charles III wears two watches on his hands, one on his right hand and the other on his left hand. Some people wonder why that is?
In the most recent visit of the Prince of Wales, with his wife Kate Middleton, 41, to the town of Cornwall, William was captured wearing both watches in his hands. Two different pieces with equally different meanings.
Prince William’s watches
After the publication of photos of the prince on his visit to the National Maritime Museum, the image was associated with Princess Diana, who was also captured wearing two watches on the same arm.
One of those was during a Cartier international polo match in 1981. Diana was photographed with two watches on her wrist: one of her own and one of Charles, who was playing in the match at the time.
Diana kept the watch on her arm throughout the match, which to many seemed like a good luck gesture for her then fiancé. Years later, Lady Di again wore two watches, replicated also during a polo match.
In the case of her son William, the explanation is more modern. One of the prince’s watches is a Garmin Forerunner 245, a smartwatch that allows monitoring training results.
The other is the Omega Seamaster 300m, a watch with great sentimental value for the prince, as it was his mother who gave it to him. William has worn it for more than 20 years. An accessory that keeps an indelible memory of his beloved mother.
