Prince William has already arrived in Cape Town for a few exciting and eventful days.
The son of King Charles has a schedule full of royal engagements, all related to the Earthshot Awards.
He was spotted at Cape Town International Airport, where he landed after taking a commercial flight to South Africa.
William traveled without his wife, Princess Kate Middleton. Although she has already finished her chemotherapy treatment, her work schedule is still quite limited.
This is not the first time Kate has been absent from these awards. Last year, she decided to leave all the limelight to William in Singapore while she stayed in the UK.
Prince William in Cape Town
In Cape Town, the Prince of Wales has multiple engagements scheduled. The press caught him getting into a Range Rover waiting for him at the airport.
Wasting no time, upon arriving in South Africa he joined a rugby training session with young people from The Atlas Charity, which is dedicated to providing opportunities for children and adolescents at risk of poverty.
The students from Ocean View High School in Cape Town did not hold back and tried to impress the British heir with their sporting skills.
After the sporting activity, William took part in computer classes. The Atlas Charity also offers digital training to youngsters, and they were seen sitting in a bus transformed into a classroom, still wearing sportswear and ready to learn.
The Earthshot Awards, to be presented on Wednesday, October 6, focus on five key goals: protecting and restoring nature, combating climate change, cleaning our air, reclaiming the oceans, and building a waste-free world.
The Prince of Wales issued a new statement upon arriving in South Africa today.
He wrote on social media: “Molweni Cape Town, it’s great to be back in South Africa! What a week we have ahead here for the fourth annual @EarthshotPrize Awards and the @united4wildlife Summit. We can’t wait to share it with you.”
