Worries escalated when British newspapers reported that the 73-year-old princess had also experienced memory loss. According to Buckingham Palace statements:

“The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening. Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

Fortunately, her recovery progress has been positive, and she was discharged on June 28.

    Princess Anne’s Health Status

The Princess Royal, aged 73, is currently receiving rehabilitation support at her country home in Gatcombe Park, Gloucestershire, following her hospital discharge.

While official details about her health remain limited, her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, shared some insights:

“She is recovering well, thank you. We are both profoundly grateful to the medical team and hospital support staff for their expert care — and to the emergency services who were all so wonderful at the scene,” Sir Tim told well-wishers.

“We are both deeply touched by all the kind messages we have received from so many people near and far. It means a great deal,” he added.

Despite the accident necessitating the suspension of her royal duties, many are curious about when Princess Anne will resume her responsibilities.

Year after year, she consistently ranks as one of the hardest-working royals, even surpassing her brother, King Charles.

Princess Anne’s Return to Royal Duties

According to People magazine, Princess Anne’s return to public duties will depend on her medical team’s evaluation. Currently, it is not possible to determine precisely when that will occur.

The princess missed the royal reception in honor of the Emperor of Japan and also had to cancel a planned trip to Canada in the coming days.
