Little Princess Charlotte, daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton, has just turned 9 years old, and to celebrate this special occasion Kensington Palace has shared a new official image.
It is a photograph taken by Kate herself, in which we see a radiant Princess Charlotte in the Gardens of Windsor.
It is worth noting that this portrait not only commemorates the princess’ birthday but also reflects the change of strategy that the Princes of Wales have begun to implement since Prince Louis’ birthday.
Princess Charlotte’s birthday photo
In the midst of the health difficulties in which the British royal family is immersed, the birthdays of the youngest will always be a breeze of joy.
Just a few weeks ago, Prince Louis, the youngest of the Welsh, blew out the seven candles on his birthday cake.
Shortly after, on April 29, William and Kate celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary.
And now, this May 2, it was Princess Charlotte’s turn to enjoy her big day.
The photo, which was posted directly to social media, was captured by Kate Middleton.
In it we can see a smiling Charlotte dressed casually, sporting a denim mini skirt with buttons down the front, matching navy blue tights with a sweater from which a flower print collar stands out.
The princess is also wearing a maroon cardigan, the same one she wore in the controversial Mother’s Day photo, where the Princess of Wales was criticized for excessive use of Photoshop.
The text that accompanied the photo was: “Happy 9th Birthday, Princess Charlotte! Thank you for all of the kind messages today.”
Once again Prince William and Kate Middleton have made clear the change in strategy when sharing personal photos.
After the controversy surrounding the edited Mother’s Day photo, the Prince and Princess of Wales decided to stop pre-sending images to photo agencies and instead post them directly on their social media.
This new strategy of William and Kate demonstrates their desire to maintain a more direct relationship with the public by sharing family moments.
