Princess Charlotte’s latest public appearance showed that she is on her way to becoming quite the modern royal.
The 9-year-old joined her family for the traditional walk at Sandringham House, an event that marks the celebration of Christmas for the Windsors.
Charlotte walked alongside her parents, Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton, as well as other members of the family, on her way to the church service at St. Mary Magdalene Church, where the family usually spends the holidays.
As they left the church, the princess and her family stood out among the other royals.
They greeted those present with great joy and received a lot of gifts.
It was precisely at this moment that Charlotte gave us a clear hint that she will be a very modern princess.
Princess Charlotte’s selfies
One of the most iconic moments was when, amidst smiles, Princess Charlotte stopped to take a selfie with a member of the crowd.
She was clearly enjoying the attention, posing like a social media pro. She also happily accepted flowers and chocolates offered to her by the people around her.
Interestingly, while the royal family has not always been a fan of selfies, they seem to be learning to adapt to this new technological age driven by social media.
For instance, her dad, Prince William, has embraced this phenomenon and has not hesitated to take selfies with fans.
The simple fact that Charlotte, at just 9 years old, is so at ease in these situations is an indication that when she and her brother, Prince George, take the reins of the monarchy, it will probably be more common to see the royals involved in these types of images.
Charlotte is poised to be the new face of a more connected and accessible royal.
