Princess Diana remains a relevant figure for both her family and those who admire her.
That’s why the British magazine Tatler has chosen the princess as the protagonist in its new cover.
The image used is an unpublished black and white photograph of Diana posing at 27 years old in an elegant dress and a slight smile.

The photograph was taken by David Bailey in 1988 and was commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery in London, with this particular image being kept by the photographer and never shown to the public.
According to People magazine, Diana chose Bailey for his “bold minimalism” as part of her plan to establish a new photographic identity for herself.
The Tatler article accompanying the cover is titled “Diana, the battle for her legacy” and addresses the controversial sixth season of The Crown on Netflix, which narrates the late events of her life.
