Princess Kate’s athletic prowess has captured widespread attention in a viral video, as she steps back from public engagements following a cancer diagnosis.
Known for her sporting enthusiasm, Kate has embraced activities such as tennis, hockey, sailing, rugby, and swimming, earning a reputation as one of the most active members of the royal family.
Kate’s sporting skills in rugby
Since marrying Prince William in 2011, she has showcased her skills during various official events, often supporting charitable causes through her participation.
In 2022, Kate was appointed as the patron of both the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League in England by Queen Elizabeth II.
These roles, previously held by Prince Harry until he stepped down as a senior royal, have seen Kate actively engage in rugby-related events, including training sessions with the England teams over the past two years.
A video from one of these sessions in 2022, where Kate joined the England women’s rugby squad, recently gained popularity on TikTok.
Uploaded by user @princess__jo, the clip, which has amassed over 270,000 views, showcases Kate participating in a lineout drill, where she was lifted to catch the ball, and engaging in other activities such as kicking, catching, and passing with the team.
The video, which has garnered over 2,300 likes and numerous comments, has been met with widespread admiration.
Many commenters have expressed their support for Kate, particularly in light of her recent health struggles.
“That’s a real princess, beautiful Kate,” one TikTok user remarked. Another added, “A wonderful queen she will be,” while a further comment read, “Prayers for Princess Catherine and family.”
Following her cancer announcement on March 22, Kate has been showered with support from social media users, celebrities, and world leaders.
Kensington Palace has stated that it will not provide ongoing updates about Kate’s health. Instead, the public has turned to Prince William for insight into her condition.
During a D-Day 80th anniversary commemoration on June 5 in Portsmouth, he was asked by a veteran about Kate’s health. “She’s getting better,” the prince replied, noting that she would have liked to attend the event.
Kensington Palace announced in May that Kate would not resume her royal duties until her doctors give her clearance.
However, in her initial announcement, Kate expressed her eagerness to return to work once she has recovered.
“My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy, and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now, I must focus on making a full recovery,” she said.
