This Saturday, May 30, Princess Leonor is returning to official duties after months of being virtually absent from public events.
The heir to the throne last made an official appearance in January, and since then, she has been fully committed to military training in San Javier, Murcia, with hardly any interruptions.

The stage chosen for her return isn’t just any event; it’s Armed Forces Day in Vigo, and it will also be her first time attending this celebration. For an heiress who has spent three years immersed in military training, presiding over this parade alongside her parents, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, carries a clear and significant symbolic weight.
The parade will run along Avenida de Samil, starting at the intersection with Avenida de la Constitución and ending at Rúa do Río. It will feature 3,746 members from the Royal Guard, the Army, the Navy, the Air and Space Force, the Civil Guard, and the Military Emergency Unit (UME).

The chosen location holds symbolic value for Leonor. Last year, she lived in Marín, where she completed her naval training, and strengthened her ties to Galicia. Her debut at a military event of this scale in the same region is seen as a gesture of recognition for that period.
Infanta Sofía, for her part, will not be present. The Royal House is keeping her involvement limited for now as she continues her studies abroad.

Leonor is nearing the end of the most demanding training period any heir has undergone in Spain’s recent history. It’s not just any comeback. It’s a pretty clear statement of where she stands in terms of her preparation and where she’s headed.
