Princess Leonor had her first official engagement in New York, attending the return of the Royal Theater orchestra to the iconic Carnegie Hall.
The heir to the throne attended a gala dedicated to Spanish music alongside around twenty classmates from the Juan Sebastián de Elcano training ship, all dressed in white uniforms.

During the evening, pieces by Manuel de Falla, Joaquín Turina, Maurice Ravel, and a selection of zarzuelas by Manuel Penella and José Serrano were performed.
Among the most celebrated moments was the performance of the young violinist María Dueñas, who, at only 22 years old, thrilled the audience with a powerful rendition of Korngold’s concerto in D major.
Soprano Saioa Hernández, who was making her debut on American soil, also received a standing ovation.
The concert marked the Teatro Real orchestra’s fourth visit to New York, and a new date has already been announced for October 2026.
Before the event, the midshipwomen, including Leonor, took group photos on a rooftop in the city, highlighting the camaraderie between the six women who share this experience in a predominantly male environment.
This event marked the start of Leonor’s agenda in the Big Apple.
