‘Alabarda’ magazine, published by the Royal Guard, has launched its long-awaited 34th issue, and on this occasion, the undisputed protagonist is Princess Leonor.
This special edition offers an exclusive look at the path the heir to the throne is taking in her military training.
This issue becomes the first time that the magazine focuses its attention on the figure of the Princess of Asturias.
The life of Princess Leonor in the Military Academy
The eldest daughter of the kings of Spain, Felipe and Letizia has quickly adapted to military life.
Leonor recently faced tough tests at the San Gregorio maneuver fields and the Infantry Academy in Toledo.
These military training has been a trial by fire that she has passed with success, bravery, and sacrifice.
From helicopter embarkation and disembarkation, and target practice to urban combat training, Leonor has strengthened her tactical and leadership skills.
Leonor is said to be demonstrating a great deal of skill and has deeply internalized the values of loyalty and sacrifice.
“She is just another cadet who is undergoing a similar training period to her peers and is really doing well,” stated Manuel Perez Lopez, director of the military academy.
This statement makes it clear that the heiress to the throne has no privileges and is treated just like the rest.
They have also revealed what the day-to-day life of the Princess of Asturias and her fellow cadets is like.
“They get up around six, six-fifteen, have breakfast, go to classes in the morning, which include theory classes, a physical training class, and military classes or else of the engineering that the cadets are studying,” he added. “That’s the normal day. When they go on maneuvers, they go out into the field and do military instruction.”
As a curious fact, Pérez López suggested that this year they might receive a greater number of applications from women due to the media effect caused by the entrance of Princess Leonor to the military academy.
