The institutional acts for the birthday of Princess Leonor continue to give much to talk about and the future Queen of Spain fulfilled one of the most important steps in her preparation to inherit the throne.
In the morning, Princess Leonor attended the Congress with her family, where she took her oath before the Constitution of her country.
She then received the medals of the Senate and the collar of the Order of Charles III. After the protocol events, the royal family celebrated a lunch at the Royal Palace, where an amusing anecdote took place.
Princess Leonor drinking champagne
One of the funniest moments of the day was when King Felipe gave a speech in honor of his daughter.
Felipe VI invited everyone to drink a toast to Princess Leonor, and it was at this moment that she was seen for the first time with a glass in her hand, as she has now reached the minimum age for consuming alcoholic beverages.
The image of the toast went viral because of Leonor’s reaction to tasting the drink, which suggested that she didn’t really like it.
Social networks were also abuzz with comments about Queen Letizia’s smile when she saw her daughter’s reaction.
Many Twitter users celebrated the complicity between the royals and their daughters and congratulated Princess Leonor for taking this big step.
