A few days ago, Princess Leonor reappeared with her parents at the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the proclamation of Felipe VI as king.
Leonor was accompanied at all times by her sister, Infanta Sofia, with whom she was seen close and complicit.
A sample of that complicity was given during the banquet at the Royal Palace, when the Borbon sisters broke the protocol to address their parents with some emotional words of congratulations.
Undoubtedly, an emotional moment of great mischief that will remain in history.
Princess Leonor’s Graduation
On July 3, Leonor will receive the office of ensign of the Army at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza.
This recognition marks the end of her first year of military training, which is part of a three-year plan that includes her passage through the three military academies.
She will be accompanied at the ceremony by her parents, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, and possibly by her sister Sofia.
However, once again, the emeritus kings, Leonor’s grandparents, will not attend the presentation of diplomas in Zaragoza.
The emeritus King Juan Carlos, who already wanted to be present at the swearing in of the flag, has expressed his disappointment at not being able to participate in institutional events in which his son and granddaughter are present.
“He is older, he wants to be close to his family and live moments that will go down in history and of which he is not part,” say people close to the emeritus.
Despite the refusal, Juan Carlos will not cease in his attempt to be present at significant moments for his son and granddaughter.
The General Military Academy of Zaragoza, where he himself spent time training and forged great friendships, will always welcome him with open arms.
However, it is understood that the decision to exclude his presence seeks to prevent him from detracting from Princess Leonor’s own prominence at this important event.
Princess Leonor’s vacation
After this important event, the Princess will say goodbye to her classmates in Zaragoza to begin a new stage at the Marín Naval Academy in Pontevedra.
But before that, Leonor plans to enjoy her first experiences as an adult, including a getaway with her friends at the General Military Academy during the second half of July.
Although the exact destination has not been confirmed, it is rumored that it could be Cabo de Palos, in Cartagena.
According to the Spanish website Lecturas, Leonor wants to keep in touch with her colleagues and enjoy some time off away from Zaragoza.
Sources close to the Palace, quoted by Monarquía Confidencial, have confirmed that the princess prefers to spend a few days with her family and friends instead of traveling to Mallorca with her parents.
“She does not want photos, nor to be in Marivent. She prefers her private plans,” the sources reveal. “She is very much looking forward to those days of escape, and that she can also enjoy more privacy,” they add.
It has been known that the princess has the support of the king and queen to spend the summer with her friends before starting her private vacation with the family.
