She certainly lends her support to the Spanish monarchy by wearing green, but why green?
Why does Princess Leonor wear green dresses?
Green, is one of the characteristic colors that has been historically related to the Spanish monarchy.
In this sense, Princess Leonor of Spain wears green dresses to support the monarchy.
This symbolism linked to the monarchy comes specifically from the Alphonsine monarchists to identify themselves during the Franco dictatorship.
For this reason, it is common to see members of the Royal Family, with clothes of this color in certain public acts.
There is also a word game with the acronym V.E.R.D.E (green in Spanish) which can be interpreted as Viva El Rey De España (Long Live the King of Spain).
