The future Queen of Spain entered the Military Academy on August 17 and already has a new military title.
The heiress has already attended her first training with weapons of war, a rifle caliber 5.56 millimeters, which weighs about 2.5 kilos and can fire 750 rounds per minute.
The daughter of King Felipe of Spain is already adapted to military life, Leonor, along with the rest of her companions, runs every morning several kilometers around the academy grounds and has learned to train, to greet her superiors.
Princess Leonor’s new military title
Princess Leonor, who will spend three years of her life in military training, will be known as “Lady Cadet Leonor”.
The heiress will receive the title after completing the first phase of her training, known as integration and adaptation to military life.
During this initial phase of training, Leonor and her companions took part in all kinds of activities related to military life.
This would lead them to decide whether to continue their military training or, on the contrary, to decide to leave, which is what happens to a large number of people who fail to adapt or integrate into the army.
Leonor will not have the option of dropping out and must complete her training if she is ever to take the reins of her country’s monarchy.
The saber and the oath
The next big moment for the Princess will be on 19 September when she will be presented with her sabers, a very special event for all those involved in military life.
The Princess will be presented with her weapon as part of her cadet process. This will be followed by the famous Oath of Allegiance, which is scheduled for 7 October.
This event includes a pledge to defend her country at the risk of her own life.
