The daughters of the King and Queen of Spain, Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia, have traveled to Paris to support the Spanish Olympic team in the 2024 Games.
While their parents fulfill their institutional obligations in Palma de Mallorca, the young royals are enjoying the sporting atmosphere of the French capital.
Princesses Leonor and Sofía Cheer for Spain in Paris
After spending the morning watching beach volleyball, Leonor and Sofia spent the afternoon of Monday 29 July watching the exciting handball match between Spain and Sweden.
Despite the defeat of the Spanish team, who lost 26-29 against the Swedes, the sisters did not stop cheering the players from the stands.
During the match, the cameras caught the young princesses following every play with attention. At one highlight, the spectators applauded the sisters, a gesture that the Spanish Royal House proudly shared on its Instagram account.
This is the first time Leonor and Sofia have attended an Olympic Games, marking a milestone compared to other young royals who have done so from a young age.
Before the handball match, Leonor and Sofia were also present at Carolina Marin’s badminton match and the fencing competition.
The young ladies did not miss the opportunity to greet the elite athletes of the Spanish Olympic team, showing their unconditional support.
Both proudly wore the Spanish Olympic team uniform.
Leonor opted for a navy blue polo shirt with the national flag on the edges of the sleeves and white pants, while Sofia chose a white polo shirt and medium-wash jeans.
It is not yet known if Leonor and Sofia will attend more competitions or if their parents will take over this task. What is clear is that they have played their role with grace and enthusiasm.
