The evolution of the style of Leonor de Borbón and Infanta Sofia at the Princess of Girona Awards
Next Wednesday, July 10, the Princess of Girona Awards will be held in Lloret de Mar, an event presided over by the King and Queen, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia.
Since 2019, when Princess Leonor presided over the presentation of these awards for the first time, we have observed a remarkable evolution in the style of dress of both her and her sister, the Infanta Sofia.
Sofia and Leonor’s style at the Girona Princess Awards
The 2019 debut
In her first appearance at these awards, Princess Leonor opted for a red tweed long-sleeved ensemble with three gold buttons, completed with red ballerinas by Eli Shoes. This look marked the beginning of her stylistic transformation in the following years.
Infanta Sofia, on her debut, wore a white short-sleeved dress with a side bow that accentuated her waist. She complemented her styling with gold Pretty Ballerinas ballerinas, showing a fresh and youthful style.
The break in 2020
In 2020, the ceremony was not held due to pandemic restrictions. However, this did not stop the stylistic evolution of the young royals.
The return in 2021
With the return of the awards in 2021, Princess Leonor took to the stage in a red Bgo & Me design, a short-sleeved crepe gown with a sharp waist and above-the-knee length. She combined this elegant dress with red ballerinas by Mathilda Shoes.
The Infanta Sofia, for her part, surprised with a black dress by Sfera in oversize style, contrasted in white. This short dress with wide sleeves was quickly sold out in stores and she combined it with lace ballerinas by Carolina Herrera.
The fairytale look in 2022
In 2022, Princess Leonor dazzled in a sky blue dress from the brand Miphai. This model, with a crossover neckline and knee-length flared skirt, evoked an image of Cinderella. Leonor completed her look with nude suede shoes by Carolina Herrera and a flattering updo.
Infanta Sofia also stood out with an ecru two-piece ensemble by Bruna. The combination of long short-sleeved blouse and tailored pants was a hit, selling out quickly in stores. Sofia complemented her outfit with matching Carolina Herrera flats.
Elegance in 2023
Last year, Princess Leonor caught the eye with an outfit by Cherubina. The two-piece, consisting of a blouse with a V-neckline, puffed sleeves and a bow at the waist, along with a ruffled, asymmetrical skirt, showed a sophisticated style. She completed her look with metallic sandals and Carolina Herrera earrings.
The Infanta Sofia opted for a silver dress by Moises Nieto, with slits in the sleeves that left the shoulders exposed. The draped design on the abdomen and lumbar area highlighted her figure, while By Mum flat shoes complemented her elegant 70s-inspired outfit.
There is no doubt that the evolution of Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia’s style at the Princess of Girona Awards is remarkable and reflects the maturity in their roles within the Spanish royalty.
