This Wednesday, July 3 was a graduation for Princess Leonor who received the office of lady ensign and the Grand Cross of Military Merit with white badge from the hands of her father, King Felipe VI.
The ceremony took place at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza.
For this important event that marks the end of the first military stage of the Princess of Asturias, Queen Letizia and Infanta Sofia were present at the ceremony.
Princess Leonor’s Military Ceremony in Zaragoza
The King and Queen of Spain and the Infanta Sofia arrived at the Military Academy at 11:30 Spanish time.
During the event there were several events that drew attention, among them the awkward moment that Queen Letizia lived where the wind caused a small setback by lifting the dress and exposing her legs.
However, Queen Letizia handled the situation with agility and discretion, holding the dress with her hands.
The incident did not end there. During the performance of the national anthem, the queen looked a bit uncomfortable.
Not only did she have to keep her dress in place due to the wind, but she also had to deal with her hair just like Infanta Sofia.
The day also had some emotional moments when King Felipe VI handed over the office to Leonor and the two melted into an embrace.
Queen Letizia and Infanta Sofia also hugged Leonor after the delivery of the office, showing their emotion and pride.
Queen Letizia’s summer style also gave much to talk about.
The Spanish queen debuted a floral dress from the French brand Maje.
The beautiful dress is made of chiffon with short sleeves, V-neckline and marked waist. It had a striking floral print in red, blue and purple colors.
Letizia wore flat sandals by Pedro García due to her right foot convalescence.
As for jewelry, she wore floral earrings by Helena Nicolan, model Almond Flower.
For her part, Infanta Sofia chose a look composed of recycled pieces from her closet.
The dress is from Hugo Boss and she had already worn it for the Princess of Asturias Awards 2022.
It is white with navy print. It has an asymmetrical hem and slightly flared short sleeves.
Leonor’s sister chose to wear black LMDI Collection ballerinas on her feet.
The ceremony concluded with a parade, the order to “break ranks” and the traditional launching of berets into the air.
