Just weeks away from finishing her stay at the General Military Academy in Zaragoza, Princess Leonor of Spain is preparing to take the next step in her training as a member of the royal family: entering the prestigious Escuela Naval Militar de Marín.
This next chapter in her military training will mark a milestone, making her the first young Spanish royal to receive instruction at a naval academy.
During her year in Zaragoza, the princess has demonstrated outstanding performance, standing out for her academic brilliance and proficiency in practical exercises.
According to sources close to the General Military Academy, Leonor “is brilliant” and “has successfully passed” the first four weeks of military maneuvers.
On May 25 she will enter the last phase of her military training in Zaragoza as a lady cadet for a total of six weeks of intense training.
The Princess of Asturias is expected to successfully pass this last phase.
Among the military maneuvers learned by Leonor during this period are marches, topographical routes, shooting exercises with assault rifles and pistols in a simulator, and combat practice, among others.
After finishing her stay at the General Military Academy in Zaragoza, Leonor will continue her training at the Naval Military School where she will continue her military training and face new challenges.

In addition to consolidating her nautical and tactical knowledge, she will undergo navigation simulators, diving practices, and first aid training.
One of the highlights of her training will be the practice ship aboard the Spanish Navy’s training ship “Juan Sebastián de Elcano”.

The commanders of the General Military Academy highlight the brilliance and effort of the princess, describing her as “an exceptional student”.
Her time in Zaragoza has been exemplary, being recognized with a diploma for her outstanding performance.
