Princess Leonor de Borbón is immersed in an exciting and challenging path of military training.
Halfway through her first year at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza, the heiress to the Spanish throne has experienced a radical change in her life, adapting to the rigorous rhythm of military work and discipline.
However, her journey is just beginning, for in the coming years she will face a series of challenges in the three Academies of the Spanish Army.
Princess Leonor’s military training in the Spanish Army
In the coming weeks, Princess Leonor will once again immerse herself in intense training maneuvers at the San Gregorio Field in Zaragoza, the largest in Europe.
During these practices, the lady cadet and her companions will train with assault rifles, explosives and live fire, in addition to receiving topography classes.
All this under challenging weather conditions, testing their physical and mental endurance.
After overcoming these rigors, the Princess will be able to enjoy a well-deserved rest during the Easter vacations, where a family reunion with her sister, Infanta Sofia, who is currently studying at a boarding school in Wales, is expected.
This respite will be crucial to face the final stretch of the course, which includes the second quarter exams in May.
In addition, there is a possibility that Princess Leonor will make her official debut at the Armed Forces Day, held on June 1 in Oviedo, where we could witness her public appearance in uniform.
July 15 will mark the end of her time at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza, being named lady ensign cadet on the 19th of the same month.
Leonor at the Naval Academy
After a brief vacation period, the Princess will begin her next challenge in August: the Naval School of Marín, in Pontevedra, where she will pass through the ship Juan Sebastián Elcano.
Princess Leonor at the General Air Academy
Finally, in the period between 2025 and 2026, Princess Leonor will complete her training at the General Air Academy of San Javier, in Murcia, thus closing a three-year cycle in the Spanish Army Academies.
Throughout this exciting journey, the Princess of Asturias will demonstrate her commitment, strength and determination, preparing to assume her future role as Head of the Spanish Armed Forces.
